Lukashenko warns that Western policy could lead to a third world war

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko warned Thursday that the policy promoted by the West could lead the world to a third world war and stressed that the response "must be unequivocal" given that "the conflicts that have shaken the Old World have already reached Asia".

Lukashenko stressed that the "practice of organizing coups d'état in third countries and the dictatorships of the sanctioning countries do not fit the norms of international law".

"The risk of starting a third world war in which there would be no winners is unacceptable. We have to think things over as the situation has deteriorated catastrophically not only in Europe but globally," he said.

In this regard, he has urged the countries of the region to "join forces". "Belarus cannot ignore the current issues. I am convinced that the time has come to unite in order to confront the problems that we face and that we cannot overcome independently," he said.
